About This Site:

The KitsKam.com website features a wonderful view of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The high resolution camera automatically takes a picture every 30 seconds and then uploads it to this website. The KitsKam website is run by Duncan Rawlinson.

Approximate viewing angle of the camera:

Red: potential viewing angle. Blue: current viewing angle.

How does the KitsKam work?

Hardware: The camera is an old Canon Rebel XT DSLR donated by my brother. The camera is tethered to an old laptop with a USB cable. Of course the laptop is also plugged in with an AC cable. It is mounted on an old manfrotto tripod which was given to me by Hugh Bell, who happens to be the best steadicam operator you’ve ever seen!

Software:
NEW: You can download the the software that runs the kitskam for free and start your own!!! Just go here. The application was designed by Duncan Rawlinson and the application was created by Micheal O.

Website: The website is just a simple wordpress site. There is some ajax on the main page that automatically refreshes the image without have to reload the page. It was created by Douglas Turecek.
